Shape your drives with a durable, firm-feeling Valkyrie
The Innova Champion Valkyrie is a speed-9 driver with workable high-speed turn and a fading finish. Its 9 / 4 / -2 / 2 flight ratings make it a candidate for long turnover shots and, with the right power and release, rollers. Champion plastic suits players who prefer a firmer feel and durable construction for regular rounds.
Why choose Champion over Star?
Champion offers a firmer feel than Star, while both blends provide comparable durability. Choose Champion if that firmer feedback suits your grip; choose Star if you prefer a slightly less firm blend with added grip. Neither plastic label guarantees the exact flight of an individual disc.
Find the line that fits your power
- Workable turn: The -2 turn rating gives players with sufficient throwing speed room to shape the high-speed portion of the flight.
- Finishing fade: Fade 2 adds movement back toward the fade direction as the disc slows, without making every throw an automatic S-curve.
- Turnover potential: A useful option for players developing longer turning lines rather than relying exclusively on overstable drivers.
- Roller potential: Experienced players can explore roller lines using suitable release angles and enough power.
Choosing your weight
Innova highlights lighter Valkyries for developing players and downwind distance, while heavier weights can be useful when throwing into the wind. Treat weight as one part of the decision, not a promise of extra distance or headwind resistance. Choose from the listed options based on your comfort and the conditions you expect to play.
On a fairway that bends away from your normal fade direction, the Valkyrie gives you a driver to practice carrying a turning line. Begin with smooth throws in open space and learn how your chosen weight responds before aiming near trouble. Lower-power throws may fade earlier, while stronger throws can produce more turn.
If your priority is a hard, dependable finish in strong headwinds, a more overstable driver may be a better fit. The Valkyrie's strength is flight shaping, not resisting every amount of turn.
