Pick your landing zone, then commit to the line
The Innova Champion TeeBird3 is a speed-8 fairway driver for controlled placement shots. Its 8 / 4 / 0 / 2 flight ratings combine resistance to high-speed turn with a moderate fading finish, making it worth considering when accuracy matters more than maximum floating carry.
What makes it a TeeBird3?
Innova describes the TeeBird3 as a faster evolution of the TeeBird. Its flat flight plate promotes speed while reducing glide, giving the mold a target-specific fairway role. That does not mean automatic accuracy: the line still comes from your release and throwing speed.
Why choose Champion plastic?
- Durable construction: A practical option for a fairway driver you expect to throw regularly.
- Firmer feel than Star: Choose Champion if you prefer firmer feedback in your grip; Star offers a slightly less firm alternative with added grip.
- Stock Champion version: Choose by your preferred feel and available color and weight, rather than assuming specialty finishes are necessary for the TeeBird3's control role.
Where it fits in your bag
On a fairway where a good landing leaves an open approach, the TeeBird3 gives you a reason to reach for a controlled driver instead of your fastest disc. Start with a smooth release, account for the finish, and learn its carry at your normal power.
It suits players who already throw slower fairways comfortably and want a quicker placement-focused option. Lower-power throws may fade earlier than expected. If you need easy turnovers, a gentler finish, or prolonged glide, a more understable or glide-focused driver may suit the shot better.
Champion and Star TeeBird3s share the published flight ratings. Plastic, weight, wear, and individual variation can still affect flight, so do not assume an exact stability difference from the plastic name alone.
