The Innova Väinö Mäkelä Star TeeBird Team Champion Series pairs an athlete edition with the TeeBird's control-oriented fairway role. Its 7 / 5 / 0 / 2 flight ratings combine glide, neutral rated high-speed turn, and a defined finishing fade.
An athlete edition, not Champion plastic
Team Champion Series is the edition name. Innova identifies Väinö Mäkelä's offering as a Star TeeBird, so do not confuse the series name with Champion plastic. Choose this version for its player association and Star material, without assuming a guaranteed flight difference from every other TeeBird.
Control your fairway placement
Picture a landing area that leaves room for forward carry followed by a finishing fade. Learn the TeeBird's response to a smooth release in practice, then use that familiar shape to set up your next shot instead of reaching for extra driver speed.
- Speed 7: A control-oriented fairway-driver option.
- Glide 5: Carry for fairway drives.
- Turn 0: A neutral high-speed turn rating rather than pronounced understable turn.
- Fade 2: A noticeable finishing tendency to include in your line planning.
Where it fits
Consider it alongside an understable fairway driver when you want contrasting shot shapes. Players developing throwing speed should allow for its fade rather than expect every release to fly straight. For long turnovers or roller-focused shots, a more understable mold may fit better.
