Take the scenic line through the fairway.
The Axiom Prism Proton Soft Insanity - OTB Open brings a workable 9-speed flight to a distinctive premium plastic combination. With 9 / 5 / -2 / 1.5 flight numbers, it offers room to shape a drive with gradual turn and a modest finish rather than relying on a hard fading hook.
Average-power throwers can find straight-oriented flights, while stronger arms can explore precise hyzer flips and turnovers. It is a control option that rewards learning your release angles, not a promise that every thrower will see the same flight.
Prism looks, Proton Soft identity
This OTB Open edition uses Prism Proton Soft. Axiom's Prism construction features a Proton rim paired with a variable core material, with bright translucent colors, grip, and durability characteristics shared with Proton.
The Soft designation identifies this version, but it does not guarantee the exact flex, dome, or stability of every individual disc. Choose the listed color, rim, foil, and weight combination for the disc you want; no particular artwork or release year is assumed here.
More options from a smooth release
- Hyzer-flip drives: Explore a hyzer release that works toward flat as the disc's turn develops.
- Turnover routes: Higher-power players can use the understable flight to follow turning fairways.
- Straight control: A useful fit when your throwing speed brings out the mold's straighter flight.
- Low-ceiling placement: Axiom highlights the Insanity's forward carry on lower-height drives.
When the opening is narrow and a wide fading finish would bring trouble into play, start with a smooth, measured throw. Learn how much hyzer this Insanity wants, then build the shot around that angle instead of adding power just because you can.
A workable driver, not a torque sponge
Axiom compares the Insanity to a worn-in MVP Inertia, with a little more high-speed turn and less fade. It makes sense for players seeking a straight-to-understable complement to stable drivers. Forehands call for clean touch rather than expecting strong overstability to absorb extra torque.
The manufacturer groups the Insanity in its 18.5 mm distance-driver class. At speed 9, it also fills the fairway-control role used for this listing.
