Find the angle that opens up the fairway.

The 2025 Valerie Mandujano Tour Series Scorch pairs Discraft’s glide-rich distance driver with Z Swirl plastic. Its 11 / 6 / -2 / 2 flight combines workable high-speed turn with a finishing fade, giving players with suitable speed room to shape distance rather than force every shot on a hard hyzer.

Valerie chose the Scorch for her 2025 Tour Series disc. This version brings enhanced grip in Z Swirl, making it a distinct choice alongside stock Z, ESP, and other Scorch releases.

Work the turn instead of fighting the disc

At the right speed, the Scorch can turn during the faster part of its flight and carry before fading back toward its normal finish direction. Start it on hyzer to explore a flip-up line, or give a flatter release enough room for a broader S-curve.

Experienced players can also explore turnovers, tailwind distance shots, and rollers. Those are technique-dependent options, not automatic outcomes: the angle, speed, height, and conditions determine whether the flight develops as intended.

  • Hyzer flips: Match the starting angle to your power for a workable flip-up flight.
  • Open S-curves: Allow space for both turn and finishing fade.
  • Tailwind drives: Explore glide-rich distance while adjusting to the wind.
  • Advanced shot shaping: Practice turning lines and rollers once you know the disc’s response.

Z Swirl grip, Tour Series identity

Discraft describes this Z Swirl release as offering enhanced grip and a touch more wind resistance. That does not make it a dedicated headwind driver; its turning flight still needs to be matched to your power and the conditions.

Choose it for the plastic feel and the Valerie Mandujano Tour Series identity. Swirl appearance can vary between individual discs, so select your preferred option rather than expecting every example to look identical.

Who should make room for it?

Picture a longer fairway with enough width to use a full flight. Instead of trying to overpower a driver that fades too early, you choose a measured hyzer release and give the Scorch space to turn, glide, and finish.

It fits players already comfortable with distance-driver speed who want a more workable option. Lower-speed throws may show less turn and fade earlier; stronger throws may need more hyzer and more room. Developing players may get easier control from a slower fairway driver while building clean technique.
