Big lines need room, and the power to reach them.

The Axiom Neutron Excite is an understable high-speed distance driver for experienced throwers who can bring a wide-rimmed disc up to speed. Its manufacturer flight ratings of 14.5 / 5.5 / -2 / 2 combine glide, workable turn, and a finishing fade for long, shaped flights.

Understable does not mean beginner-speed. The Excite belongs to Axiom's demanding 24.5 mm rim class, and its full flight takes developed power. Strong arms can explore straightening hyzer flips and sweeping turnovers; average-power players may see a straighter flight followed by fade instead.

Neutron plastic for regular throwing duty

Neutron offers premium look and feel in high-contrast opaque colorways, with durability characteristics shared with Proton. It is a practical premium blend for repeated fieldwork and distance rounds.

Select the listed color, rim, and weight combination. Plastic color does not guarantee a particular stability, dome, or flight.

Explore the shape, not just the speed

  • Powered hyzer flips: Give the turn a controlled starting angle when your speed can bring the disc toward flat.
  • Long turnover routes: Stronger throwers can use its understability for broad, panning lines.
  • High-speed rollers: A specialty option for experienced players who know how to set the release and landing angle.
  • Open distance shots: Allow room for the full flight rather than squeezing it into a placement line better suited to a slower driver.

Picture an open fairway with space to work from release to landing. Choose a line, throw smoothly, and watch how much turn your power actually produces. That information is more valuable than treating a high speed rating as a promise of extra distance.

Who should choose the Excite?

Experienced players comfortable with very wide rims and high-speed drivers are the natural fit. Axiom compares its flight character to the Insanity with added speed and glide potential, but that does not remove the higher power requirement.

If you are still building driver technique, a slower fairway or distance mold may give you more usable distance and better placement. For a hard-fading utility shot or wind-fighting role, choose a more overstable tool rather than relying on the Excite's turn to disappear.
