Lightweight distance with a finish you can plan around.
The Axiom Prism Proton Soft Defy Champions Cup Edition puts a stable-to-overstable distance driver into a lightweight selection. With 11 / 5 / -1 / 3 flight numbers, it pairs modest high-speed turn with a pronounced finishing fade, giving power throwers a distance option that still wants to work back at the end.
This is the Defy for players who want a lighter disc without shopping for a turnover specialist. Its weight and stability serve different purposes: lower weight can be easier to get moving, while the mold retains its strong-finishing flight character.
Prism Proton Soft, not Champion plastic
This Champions Cup release uses Prism Proton Soft, rather than Champion plastic. It brings the Prism Proton construction into a softer material option, making it worth considering if you prefer a more yielding feel over a stiff driver. Softness alone does not promise less skip or a different set of flight numbers.
The edition is identified by its Champions Cup release. Choose your preferred color, rim, and weight combination from the available options.
A useful slot when the finish matters
The Defy fills a stable-to-overstable distance role: a disc for drives where you want forward travel followed by a committed fade. The release description specifically highlights wind-fighting duties and long-range throws for players with the power to get it up to speed.
- Power drives: A distance option for players who can engage an 11-speed driver.
- Finishing hyzers: Use its fade when the route calls for a stronger finish rather than a gentle drift.
- Wind-aware distance: A stability-focused choice to test in your conditions, not a guarantee against every gust.
Picture an open drive with room to carry forward, but a landing area that rewards a firm finish. The Defy earns its place when you know its release and give that fade room to work. Start with controlled throws, then learn how much power your chosen weight needs before stretching it out.
Who should bag this Defy?
Players seeking a lighter stable-to-overstable distance driver are the best fit. Stronger arms can explore its longer flight; lower-power players should expect an earlier, more pronounced fade rather than assume that lightweight means understable.
If your priority is easy turnovers or a minimal-fade finish, this is a different tool. Flight depends on power, release angle, wind, and wear, so let a few practice throws establish its role in your bag.
